Mohale’s Hoek gets a chance to upgrade its power grid on May 6 when the Minister of Industry, Trade, Marketing and Cooperatives, Mr. Mpho Malie officiates a sod turning ceremony to mark construction of a 132 Kilo Volts power line.  

The intention is to upgrade electricity supply from Mafeteng to Mohale’s Hoek from 33kilo Volts to 132KV in order to minimize power cuts, according to District Administrator Mr. sechaba Mojau.

Minister of Natural Resources, Dr. ‘Mamphono Khaketla is also expected to attend the ceremony.

The construction including the installation of a large transformer as well as an increase in the number of of power sub-stations, will be carried out by Lesotho Steel.
