Matobo Set to take Over Sports Commission Presidency
Vice President Baholo Matobo is set to take over as president of the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) following the death of the incumbent in a car accident in November 2004.

Matobo's name was presented to Minister of Sports and recreation, Mrs. 'Mathabiso Lepono for consideration by the rest of the Commission's board, who have agreed to recommend his name to the Minister for approval as the next president.

The recommendation is in accordance with the Commission's constitution, which stipulates that members of the Commission recommend a name for the position of president and present it to the Minister in charge for approval, according to administrative officer Mr. Motebang Mofo.

The administrative officer also announced that the number of associations affiliated to the Commission has increased to 26 this year with the registration of the Lesotho Universities and Colleges Sports Association (LUCSA).

LSRC was established by the Parliament Act of 2002 to replace the Lesotho Sports Council.
