The Wednesday December 7 5 – 0 drubbing of Mauritius by Lesotho has given Makoanyane X1 a chance at the final as their semifinal opponents, Amajita (South Africa), have in previous friendly matches experienced the wrath of the local boys. 

Makoanyane go into a semifinal tie with South Africa at the King Zwelithini Stadium on December 9 after securing the better goal difference out of the runner up teams in the three groups. 

The local boys recovered from their first day 5 – 1 by Zambia to beat Swaziland 4 – 0 on December 5 followed by the 5 – 0 pasting of Mauritius on December 7. 

What will make the Makoanyane X1 and Amajita clash more interesting is the fact that the South Africans are led by Styles Phumo, who should know something or two about Lesotho as he was for a long time national coach of the country’s senior team.  

The other semifinal clash will be between Zambia and Madagascar.
