Likuena, Cranes International Friendly Called Off
The much awaited international soccer friendly between Lesotho senior international side Likuena and their Ugandan counterparts, the Cranes, scheduled for the Setsoto stadium on February 19
has been called off.

Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) public relations officer Ts'iu Monne said the game had been called off because the Ugandan Football Association is currently facing internal problems and had requested LEFA to at least cover their national team's travelling expenses and accommodation. LEFA was unable to do this hence the cancellation.

However, new arrangements will be made with the Ugandan Association to organise a game in March when the Cranes will be playing South Africa in the African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifying games for them to go via Maseru as part of their warm up match, Monne said.

On the other hand, there was a possibility of a friendly against neighbours Bafana Bafana in June as part of Likuena's Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Castle Cup preparations. The local side has been drawn against Malawi, Swaziland and Zambia in games to be played in Lusaka.

Likuena has so far played two international matches against Botswana (1-1) and a Germany Institutions Select team losing 0-2 under the watchful eye of coach, Tony Hey.
