Four new players have been included in a 22 member squad selected to play
against Uganda in an international friendly scheduled for February 19 at
Setsoto stadium, Maseru.
Team manager Thabo Pule
told LENA that Likuena coach Tony Hey has called Lesotho Defence Force
striker Thulo Ranchobe, Matlama mid fielder Bushy Moletsane, Lioli's
defender Sheli Ramoseeka as well as Isaiah Mosala into training with the
senior national football side.
The players would replace those who have been dropped due to commitments
such as academic studies. Goalkeeper Ts'epo Mathetha and defender Rethabile
Nkoe are said to have begged off the team because of studies in South Africa
and at the Technical School of Leribe respectively.
Responding to concerns expressed by some premiership clubs that c Hey is not
able to attend local games to identify potential Likuena players because he
is always away in Germany, Pule said this problem as been raised with the
coach.
However, he said, they are aware of the coach's problems with accommodation,
which they are trying to work on. He was hopeful that the coach's housing
problem will have been solved by March.
Coach Hey, on the other hand, said he is working with his assistant to
identify players and also receive recommendations from other coaches about
aspiring players.
He promised that aside
from the Ugandan friendly, they had other matches lined up including
friendlies against Mauritius and Angola in March.
