Likuena Test their Strength Against Isihlangu
The country's senior national side Likuena play Swaziland's Isihlangu in an international friendly match at the Setsoto stadium on June 01.

The match will be played a few days before both teams fly to Lusaka where they feature in this year's Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Castle Cup that begins in this Zambian capital on June 11 and runs until  June 12.

In an interview, the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) chief executive officer Kholoang "Mirror" Mokalanyane expressed relief that the team was finally able to secure an international friendly that would give them a measure of their strength a few days before they are due to meet Malawi in the regional tournament.

'We had planned to play this match away because we are going to face Malawi in Lusaka, but Swaziland also wanted to test their strength away from home, " Mokalanyane said.

In the COSAFA Castle Cup, if Likuena win against Malawi, they next meet the winner between Swaziland and Zambia with the overall winner proceeding to the semi-finals, where they will join last year's champions Angola, winners of Group A South Africa as well as Group B victors Zimbabwe.

The good news is the return of Bokang 'Lefty' Mothoana from trials in Switzerland, in time for the Lusaka games. Mothoana impressed the Swiss but has been held back by world controlling body, Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) prohibition on underage players. He will have to wait until December, when he turns 18 years of age, before he can commit to any club, according to Mirror Mokalanyane.
