Lesotho Athletes Continue Preparations for Melbourne

Lesotho continues its preparation for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games with a 15 member team of athletes taking part in the Premier marathon to be held in Bloemfontein on October 29.

National athletics coach Chaplin Mpomane said he wanted to pace his athletes and so would not enter the long distance races such as the 64 kilometre marathon that will also be part of the Bloemfontein events. There will however be athletes from Zimbabwe and Russia trying their hand at these longer races.

According to Mpomane, the Lesotho Amateur Athletics Association (LAAA) will also take part in the Damelin marathon to be held in Port Elizabeth on November 24. The team consists of two females and thirteen males.
