The Lesotho Amateur Athletics Association (LAAA) has selected a team of 13 athletes to the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne, Australia in 2006.

National coach, Mr. Chaplin Mpomane, said the team comprising of 11 males and two females, will take part in three preparatory marathons in October, November and December.  

The first will be in Bloemfontein on October 26 and is being organised by Edgars, the second will be the 15 km Damelin marathon to be run in Port Elizabeth on November 24 and the last would be another Port Elizabeth race organised by Parmalat on December 3.

The team has recently returned from the Durban City marathon where they won positions one to three, he said.
