The Lesotho Revenue Authority will introduce a corporate tax clearance certificate, a single tax clearance document phasing out the two, separate tax clearance certificates for VAT and Income Tax, from September 1 2005.

The new certificate will be generated by a computer system that is connected to the VAT and Income Tax systems and will be issued to taxpayers who are compliant for both in all their businesses, according to the LRA public relations office.

The new certificate will drastically cut down bottlenecks associated with the previous tax clearing systems and signifies the amalgamation of Income Tax, VAT and Customs under a single LRA banner.  

It will be formally launched by a demonstration to the media on  September 1^st 2005, the LRA said.
