The national junior table tennis tournament begins at the Lehakoe Cultural and Recreational Centre in Maseru on July 30, the Lesotho Table Tennis Association announced this week,

Association president Chabeli Mohatlane says the tournament is in preparation for the establishment of a  national team to represent the country in the forthcoming international championships to be held in Botswana and South Africa between this year and 2008.

Mohatlane also announced that as part of promoting table tennis among the youth, the Association will distribute table tennis outfits to participating junior table tennis club members during the tournament.

Similar tournaments will be held in other districts of the country with the aim of selecting players to establish a table tennis national team.
