| Hey's Agent Takes up the Cudgels on His behalf | |
|
After a long silence about his whereabouts, a representative of German coach Tony Hey’s agent has finally responded to the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) SOS about the former’s whereabouts. A letter signed by a Mr. Franchesco Ferreri demanding that LEFA explain their reported claims about Tony Hey has been received by the Association. LEFA chief executive officer Mirror Mokalanyane said Ferreri’s letter demanded explanation about the Association’s stand as regards Hey, after the South African agent had read media reports that the Association could not account for Hey’s whereabouts, that he had gone absent without leave, and that the Association was withholding his August salary as a result. Mokalanyane confirmed that the Association has asked the government through the Ministry of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation to dock Hey's August salary until he appeared before the LEFA disciplinary committee to answer charges against him following his going AWOL. LEFA will
again write to Hey giving him 14 days in which to appear before the
disciplinary committee. He expressed the hope that the matter will be
resolved by mid September to avoid it dragging on for too long. 30 August 2005 |
