Free State Businessmen Arrested With Fake Maloti
Two Free State businessmen have been arrested in Sunnyside, Pretoria, for possession of fake Lesotho and South African currency amounting to tens of thousands of Maloti.

A search of the bakkie they were travelling in, after a tip-off, yielded South African currency worth R47 000 and counterfeit Lesotho currency worth almost R20 000. The false notes had been hidden in laptop computer carry bags.

Police say one of the suspects was later caught trying to flush counterfeit notes down the toilet at the local police station where they were being charged.

The two men, aged 53 and 55, are currently behind bars at the Sunnyside police station. They will appear in court on June 13.
