Drivers Licence Problem Solved, Traffic Department
The Department of Traffic and Transport in Maseru has announced that the drivers' licence printing  problem has been solved and that motorists who applied for the credit card sized authorisation in the January 2003 to June 2004 period can now collect them.

Deputy Traffic Commissioner Ms 'Mapolao Mokoena said licence applications between July and December 2004 were expected at the end of this month, March 2005. Applicants from the Leribe and Mohale's Hoek districts can collect these from the regional offices while the rest of the districts will get help from sub-accountancy offices, she said.

The Deputy Commissioner attributed the delay in the issuing of the new SADC approved driver's licenses to the fact that the actual printing was done in South Africa. There were problems with the Bloemfontein based company that had initially tendered for the printing and a new company had to be found.
