| District Administrators (DAs) Take Over | |
| Local
authorities under the new decentralised local government system will be
headed by District Administrators (DAs), with Chief Executive Officers as
their second in command. The new system came into service on April 29 and
with it the position of District secretary has been phased out..
The provisional list of the District Administrators and the CEOs is as follows: Mr. Mthetho Nqojane and Ms. Ntsoaki Ranthimo-Mafeka, DA and CEO respectively for Mokhotlong. Mr. Matlaaselo Lehema and Ms Neo Mampe in Botha Bothe; Mr. Mothoasebaka Lehloenya and Mr. Molefi Makana in Leribe; Mrs.. Sekake-Ntoampe and Ms Lerato Mabina in Berea. In addition to a Municipal Council, Maseru has Ms. Ntharetso Lieta and Ms Neo Sennane; Ms. Lebohang Ramohlanka and Ms Rekhotsofetse Matela in Mafeteng; Mr. Lebamang Tlali and Mr Lits'itso Ramakhula in Mohale's Hoek and; Mrs 'Mapitso Panyane and Ms 'Mants'epi Ramoseme in Quthing. The new DA for Qacha's Nek is Mr. Motsamai Mokoto with Mr Lekhotla Ts'eane as the CEO. In Thaba Tseka Mr. Ts'abo Makhakhe is the new DA assisted by CEO Mr. Ts'epang Koele. 06 May 2005 |
