Couple Arrested for Mosoeunyane Killing
 

A member of Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) and his wife appeared shortly before the Berea Magistrate Court charged with the murder of a former high ranking government official.

'Mota 'Mota, 38, and his wife, 'Maseana, 33, both of Masoeling in Berea are alleged to have conspired to murder of  Colonel Khethang Mosoeunyane, former Member of Military Council that ruled the country from 1986 to 1992. Colonel Mosoeunyane, 62, of the same village as the accused, was shot to death last Thursday July 14.

Inspector Chabana Lebusa of Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Teyateyaneng said accused one, 'Mota,  went to Mosoeunyane's house where he found the deceased with his wife, wherein he shot the deceased. 

Inspector Chabana said there is a suspicion that 'Mota and his wife conspired to kill Mosoeunyane as 'Mota arrived at the house immediately after the late Colonel and 'Maseana had entered the house.

Police investigations are continuing and the two suspects have been remanded in custody. They will appear before court again on August 02.
