Community councillors are being sworn into office this week following their selection during the local government elections of April 30 this year, The Lesotho News Agency (LENA) has reported. In
Mohale’s Hoek, about 141 community councillors will take oath of office at
swearing in ceremonies to be held at 14 community councils in the district
on June 17. The councillors will be expected to elect two representatives to the District Council, Mr. Tlali said. The community councils established in the district are Siloe, Mashaleng, Motlejoeng, Khoelenyana, Teke, Mootsinyane, Phamong, Thaba Mokhele, Qobong, Qhobeng, Seroto, Likhutloaneng, Nkau and Qabane. In
Berea, more than 120 community councillors in ten community councils will be
sworn in, according to Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Lerato Mabina. 14 June 2005 |
