Child-care Organs Consolidate Programmes as Funding Tightens
Organisations and institutions involved in the care of orphans and destitute children from five Southern African countries are meeting in Durban, South Africa over three days, March 17 to 19, to share experiences.

Representatives of child-care institutions from Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland are expected to discuss issues such as food security, basic care and income generating projects especially in view of the fact that the Bristol Myers Squib funded Secure the Future
Programme  will be phased out in all of the countries at the end of the year

Beautiful Gate's social worker Mrs. 'Mamokhele Lechaka, who is part of a two member delegation from Lesotho, said the meeting was expected to discuss strategic methods to make the programme self sustaining.

She will be accompanied by the Beautiful Gate's AIDS training facilitator Mr Sefako Makosholo.
