Five electoral divisions will hold by-elections on December 10 2005 as a result of the deaths of councilors in these divisions, Mr. Khothatso Ralitsie of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced. 

Section 20A of the Local Government Elections Act of 1998, read with Sections 10; 26; 14; 16; 19; 9A; 23 and 48 allow for such by-elections. Preparations for these started on September 26 and will end on December 15, Mr. Ralitsie said. 

The electoral divisions are Letloepe H0309; Makhaleng A1103; Ratšoleli H0901; Kanana D0905 and Ribaneng A 1206.
