British Red Cross Raises Two Million for HIV in Lesotho
The British Red Cross Society Lesotho HIV Appeal has raised some M2 million to be used by the local chapter in supporting community home based care (HBC) and other community projects.

Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) Information Dissemination and Fundraising Coordinator Mr. Sepolo Mofelehetsi revealed in an announcement on January 13 that a two member BRCS mission made up of Programme Advisor Ms Vendela Fortune and Southern Africa Assistant Desk Officer Ms. Nicola Stevenson will be on a three-week visit to Lesotho from January 16.

The mission planned to undertake a comprehensive capacity assessment of the community projects visited by Prince Harry last winter.

During their stay in the country, the visitors will spend at least one full day in each of the community sites, spend at least two full days with LRCS in the home based care project sites and spend time with relevant operational departments of LRCS in Maseru.

In the last week of the mission's visit, the Southern Africa Desk Officer Ms. Diane Moody will join the two members of the team and meet with LRCS Management to formalise plans and agree on the way forward to be presented to the BRCS Lesotho Fund governing board in mid- February, Mr Mofelehetsi said.
