Bridging the Gap Between Actors in Science

Nine African countries are to meet in a workshop aimed at trying to bridge the gap between scientists, science educators and science policy makers on the continent and eventually form a regional platform.

The Lesotho National Commission for United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will host a four-day regional workshop in Maseru from August 22 bringing together participants from UNESCO member countries Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda and Malawi.

The workshop will seek to document lessons learned, and to identify issues and challenges with regard to bridging professional interactions between scientists, science educators and policy makers, according to National Commission coordinator Mrs. Bontle Mokotso.

A similar workshop was held in China in December last year.
