After a bad start to the 2005 Vodacom COSAFA Under 20 tournament in Durban on December 3, where they were beaten 5 – 1 by Zambia, Makoanyane XI  came back to show soccer enthusiasts in this coastal South African town that they are a force to be reckoned with. They beat Swaziland 4 – 0 in their second game on December 5. 

The other Group B tie on December 3 saw Mauritius beat Swaziland 2 - 1. Zambia continued their lucky run by beating Mauritius 2 – 0 in the second Group B game. 

Makoanyane XI play are expected to have an easy time of Mauritius on December 7.
