The country can expect satisfactory rainfall starting
from September.
The Director of Lesotho Meteorology Services Mr. Ts'eliso Sekoli says
average rainfalls are expected countrywide starting from September until
December this year. Compared to last year's rains at the same time, this
year's will be much better, he said.
Unlike last year’s measurements of around 15mm from August to December,
rainfall this September to December is expected to range between 40mm to
45mm, which is average. These will be sufficient for ploughing and will not
pose any threat to the lives of livestock.
For the past two years, between August and December, the country experienced
drought, Mr. Sekoli said and advised farmers to ready themselves for
ploughing this year, especially from November 15 to 20 as that is the best
time.
