The national Under 23 soccer team, Bahlabani,
has been invited to take part in an eight nation tournament hosted by South
Africa from January 07 to 16.
Lesotho Football Association's (LEFA) public relations officer Ts’iu Monne,
announcing the invitation, said the other countries which are to take part
include Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana, China, Nigeria, Botswana, Lesotho and the
host team South Africa.
The tournament is meant to prepare the sides for the All Africa and Olympic
qualifying Games.
The LEFA spokesperson said the invitation had come at the right time as it
will give the local team an opportunity to play against the best teams on
the continent.
The LEFA PRO said they would not be going to the competition just to add to
the numbers, but would give their all. They had been invited to the
tournament as a result of their performance in the recent Council of
Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Youth championships in Durban.
