Ambassador Eun-Soo New Korean Envoy

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Lesotho, Mr. Kim Eun-Soo presented his letters of credence to King Letsie III on Thursday, August 11.

King Letsie III said the two countries can point to a number of achievements since the establishment of their formal diplomatic relations in 1966. Cooperation between the two has covered such areas as provision of equipment in the form of motor vehicles, office furniture and HIV/AIDS testing equipment as well as human resources development.

Lesotho has followed with interest the economic and political developments that have been unfolding in the Democratic Republic of Korea (DPRK) over the last decades. During this time Basotho were impressed by the positive role that the former country played in the process of diffusing the tension between the Republic of Korea and the DPRK.

The country is thus hopeful that trust, peace and tranquility will return to the Korean Peninsula in the near future, the King said.

Ambassador Eun-Soo said it his wish and that of his country that he will do his best to further strengthen the existing friendly ties between the two countries. He will enjoy the cooperation and assistance of the King and people of Lesotho.
