This year's World Health Day theme to be road safety

 

The country will this year celebrate World Health Day by emphasising road safety. To this end a meeting to prepare for the celebrations will be held at United Nations House on January 29, WHO information officer, Mr. Malekele Phori has announced.

The preparatory meeting will be attended by participants from the Road safety department, the country's taxi associations and learner driver schools, the Lesotho Red Cross Society and the Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB) to will devise  a programme for the day, Mr. Phori said also announcing that the commemoration will this year be on April 7.

Although the venue for the celebrations is yet to be decided, there has been suggestions that it be held in Leribe. The preparatory meeting would make a decision and work with the District Secretary to finalise matters, he said.
