will lead the country's delegation to the sixth meeting of the ministerial committee of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) organ on politics, defence and security cooperation which starts in  South Africa from July 23.

political situation in the region.

It is hoped that the deliberations will also facilitate consolidation of the handover report by the Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili as out-going chairperson of the organ in August this year (2004), the media statement said.

The ministerial meeting is preceded by a senior officials' meeting of the inter-state politics and diplomacy committee as well as another for senior officials of the ministerial committee of the Organ.

The Lesotho delegation is comprised of the two Ministers; the three Principal Secretaries of the Ministries of Foreign, Home Affairs and Defence; a representative of the Lesotho Defence Force command; the Acting Commissioner of Police and the Director of Research for National Security Services.

Lesotho hosted the fifth ministerial committee of the organ and the twenty-fifth inter-state defence and security committee meeting in July 2004 in Maseru and the previous one was held in Maputo in August 2003.
