Pilot Demographic, Health Survey to be Held 

A pilot demographic and health survey will be held over four of the country's 10 districts from the middle of May. A two-week preparatory workshop starts at the Community Training Center (CTC) in Maseru on June 1 to prepare staff for the survey. 

Bureau of Statistics (BOS) assistant statistician, Mrs. Ts'oamathe 'Maseribane said the pilot survey to be conducted in Quthing, Berea, Mokhotlong and Maseru will measure responses to a planned questionnaire
being drafted, that would for the first time include in-depth health inquiries in the demographic survey, to see if the responses provide appropriate answers as expected by the survey.

Participants at the training workshop will be drawn from the Bureau of Statistics and several departments of the Ministry of Health. The survey is expected to start immediately after the training.
