PSI launches Trusted Partner campaign 

 

Population Services International (PSI) Lesotho will officially launch its new HIV/AIDS prevention campaign, the Trusted  Partner Campaign, at a ceremony to be held at the Maseru Sun Cabanas,
on February 6, 2004.

In an interview with LENA. the organization's Programmes Manager, Mr. Aaron Maselwane said the campaign is targeted at partners in love relationships and is intended to encourage them to engage in safe sex. The campaign will provide counseling sessions to all interested in testing their status with the services  available at government hospitals in Maseru, Mafeteng and Leribe, he said.

At the same occasion, the PSI Lesotho will also launch the Trust Charity Cup a soccer competition intended to provide education about prevention of HIV/AIDS while at the same time promoting soccer among young people in the country.

The tournament will be played by ten teams representing each of the country's districts. During matches, PSI will distribute condoms and educative messages about HIV/AIDS, Mr. Maselwane said. 

King Letsie III, the Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili, Minister of Health, Dr Motloheloa Phooko, 
and PSI cooperating partners will be invited to the launch, he said.
