NGOs Prepare to Lobby Internationally for Children's Education

 

Local non governmental organisations are already preparing for the Global Campaign for Education action week, which will this year be held from April 19 to 25.

The Non Governmental Organisation on the Rights of the Child (NGOC) will meet with the Lesotho Campaign for Education Forum (LCEF) to establish to establish areas of cooperation between the two organizations, according to NGOC director, Mrs. Phomolo Mohapeloa. She said NGOC recognizes the 2004 State of the World's Children's Report's theme of education, Girls and Development. 

Invited to participate at the meeting include children who took part in the Kampala launch of the Girl Education Movement (GEM) in 2001. Other strategic partners such as Ministry of Education and Training (MOET),
United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Save the Children United Kingdom, Lesotho Association of Teachers (LAT) and Media Institute of Lesotho (MILES) have also been invited.

Representatives from GCE and African Network Campaign for Education For All (ANCEFA) have also been invited for in-depth briefing of the biggest lobby to be undertaken on behalf of children missing on education.
