Morija festival committee commends nation's support

The organizing committee of the Morija Arts and Cultural Festival has applauded the good work of all those who had participated and attended as spectators at the festival this year.

A statement issued by the committee said compared to last year's troubles this year's festival was calm and peaceful with hardly any rowdiness or bad behavior conducted by all that had attended.

The statement said this year no alcohol was sold at the festival as they had realized that people could always enjoy the festival without having to get drunk, thus losing their self-respect.

It further said the police had also contributed a lot to the good order as it maintained a number of low-profile patrols not only within the main venues but also throughout the back streets of Morija, resulting in fewer incidents reported.

It indicated that this year they have achieved their purpose of uniting the people around culture, and with the support from the government, the private sector and the public, the festival reached the point of being a sustainable showcase of their heritage that lives up to the expectations of the nation.

The committee also applauded the support they received from both the local and foreign media.
