Mokhotlong to Host King's Birthday Celebrations

King Letsie III's 41st birthday celebrations will be held in Mokhotlong on July 17, the second year the celebrations have been held outside Maseru. Last year's celebrations were held at the Royal Village, Matsieng.

Mokhotlong District Secretary, Mr. Molefe Mpesi told LENA that it has been arranged that the King and Queen 'Masenate Bereng Seeiso will be hosted by the Principal Chief of Mokhotlong Chief Mathealira Seeiso on July 16, at the chief's home at Thabang, with the King and Queen being led in a procession of horsemen the next morning to the Mokhotlong pitsoground, where all the day's activities will take place.

Unlike previously, when conferment of honours and awards to deserving members of the defence and police forces, prisons staff and outstanding civilian personalities were made on July 16 at the Royal Palace, Maseru, these will be handed out at the same time as the big celebration, Mr. Mpesi said.
