MMB "win with beer" promotion drawn on January 14

The Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB) "win with beer" promotion draw, held in Maseru on January 14 had two of its three winners resident in Maseru.

The M70 000 Opel Corsa first prize went to Mrs. 'Makefuoe Mots'eare with the Poolside Bar, the bar from which she entered the competition, winning 66 cases of the 750 ml beer bottles (quarts). Mr. Kobeli Libate, of Ha Thetsane in Maseru, was first runner up, winning M10 000 and some 40 cases of quart beer for Roberto's of Roma.

The bar at the Orange River Hotel in Quthing and Mr. Motsieloa Metjeea were the outsiders with their third prize of 20 cases and M5 000 respectively.

Lesotho Brewing Company, the MMB's mother company, said many entries had to be disqualified this year because most entry forms were incorrectly filled. Bar owners did not seem to take the competition seriously, said Sales manager Mr. Lechesa Tikiso.

"It was the bar owners' responsibility to assist their customers in filling the forms correctly since they also stood a chance to win in the promotion."

Mr.Tikiso said however that some 60 000 people had entered the competition.
