Lesotho Represented at CAF, FIFA Conferences

Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) president Thabo Makakole is in Zurich, Switzerland for the Cameroonian  appeal to the world's governing body against its being found guilty of contravening FIFA's regulations on players' kit during the African Cup of Nations Final in Tunisia earlier this year.

Chief executive officer of LEFA, Kholoang "Mirror" Mokalanyane, has told the Lesotho News Agency that Makakole would join two other LEFA delegates in Paris, France, on May 17 to attend  Confederation of African Football conference and Federation of International Football Associations conferences scheduled for the French capital beginning May 19.

The other members of the delegation are secretary general Thato Molapo and the CEO.

Mokalanyane said the LEFA president will also attend the World Cup 2010 bid draw in Paris on May 16. He would however not be able to cast a vote since only regional representatives are eligible. South Africa is bidding to host the international showpiece together with Morocco and Egypt.

The CAF conference is expected to discuss issues including amendments to its constitution, following recommendations by the Council of Southern African Football Associations that the latter organisation be represented in proportion to its size, in the continental body's structures.

The world body was on the other hand expected to look at issues such as improving standards, including rules and regulations, Mokalanyane said.

The LEFA delegation is expected back home on May 21.
