LEDASA President to Head Southern African Federation

President of the Lesotho Dance Sport Association (LEDASA), Ms Nts’ili Motsieloa has been elected the first President of the executive committee of the newly established Federation of Dance Sport for Southern Africa.

Ms Motsieloa was elected at a regional meeting of dance sport associations in Johannesburg, South Africa, during the May Day weekend.

In an interview with LENA, Ms Motsieloa said although she felt honoured to have been elected to the leadership of an organisation whose existence she and her association have long been striving for, she was aware of the challenges facing the new body, which require a lot of commitment and hard work.

The main challenge was to ensure the unity of all Southern African countries so that they all eventually join  the new federation and ensure its development and sustainability.

Also elected the Federation’s public relations officer was current LEDASA Secretary General, Mr. Manyathela Kheleli.

The new executive committee will have its first meeting in September to finalise outstanding issues such as the date for its official launching; its constitution and; preparations for the inclusion of dance sport as an Olympic activity.
