Indian Doctors on a Mission of Mercy

 

Twelve doctors, members of the Rotary Club of India will spend two weeks helping out in six hospitals throughout the country.

The Director of Community Services of the Maluti Rotary Club, Mr. Tsietsi Nthunya told LENA in an interview that during their visit, the Indian Rotarians will perform free operations in various branches of medicine including plastic surgery, eye operations and gynaecology. They will be in the country until May 10.

The doctors will be based at Queen Elizabeth II in Maseru; Motebang in Leribe; Nts'ekhe in Mohale's Hoek; Maluti Adventist in Mapoteng; Scott at Morija and; at St.Joseph's, Roma. The doctors had brought with them at least one ton of medication and equipment to be used during their stay, Mr. Nthunya said.

While the hospitals have probably made arrangements for patients who will be seen by the doctors, other people in urgent need can arrange with the hospitals for them to be seen by the doctors, he said.
