The National Assembly has lost two more of its members who died in separate incidents in May, 2004. The latest, Mr. Tlokotsi Meshack Belebesi (MP), from Qhoali No. 68 constituency, was buried over the weekend at his home in Ponts'eng, Ha Belebesi, Quthing.

Mr. Belebesi won the Qhoali by-elections last August following the tragic death the former representative and Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Hon. Vova Bulane. He is the seventh member of the ruling Lesotho Congress for Democracy  (LCD) and the eighth Member of Parliament to have passed away since the 2002 elections. The late LCD MPs represented the Motimposo, Mohobollo, Motete, Khafung, Qhoali and Thaba Putsoa constituencies.

Present at Mr. Belebesi's funeral were, among others, the Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili, the Speaker of Parliament, members of the two houses of Parliament and cabinet ministers.

Another Member of Parliament, representing the opposition Lesotho People's Congress (LPC), Mr. Tokela Seitlheko, was buried a weekend earlier.
