Africa 2000 Network trains the trainers

The Africa 2000 Network of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will train around 50 community facilitators representing youth, the elderly, herd boys and the disabled from the various villages of the Lebakeng area of the Qacha's Nek district from February 3 to 5.

National Coordinator for the Network, Mr. Tlhabeli Peshoane, said the facilitators will be drawn from  villages that fall under six the gazetted chiefs in the Lebakeng area from Ha Motloang to Libobeng, who will
be chosen by their own communities. They should have qualities such as respect for others, tolerance, neighbourliness, dedication and volunteerism, he said.

The facilitators will be trained to train other members of the community and will after the training, be expected to devise development plans for the villages and be able to work hand in hand with the chiefs and members of the Interim Community Councils (ICC).
