ARV Centres Increasing, Dr. Phooko
Three more anti-retroviral (ARV) drug centres are ready to start operation with another two about to be established,  the Minister of Health and Social Welfare Dr. Motloheloa Phooko, has announced.

Queen Elizabeth II in Maseru, the military hospital at Makoanyane and the Mokhotlong hospital are ready for basic treatment of HIV and AIDS patients and two other centres will be set up in Mohale's Hoek and Qacha's Nek.

Dr Phooko said expansion of the drug centres as been found necessary in view of the increasingly high numbers of HIV and AIDS patients. This had become evident especially at the Mafeteng and Leribe centres where the former treats about 1, 500 patients a month and the latter about 20 a day.
These numbers are likely to increase now that the public is becoming informed about the centres, Dr Phooko said.
