White Commission Hands in Molise Escape Report

 

The Commission of Inquiry investigating the escape from prison of former police officer Phakiso Molise in September this year, has submitted its final report to the Deputy Prime Minister.

Receiving the report Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Lesao Lehohla commended the Commission, headed by Justice Steward White, for its tireless efforts, which he said would help a lot in improving the rule of law and democracy in the country.

The Commission heard evidence from many people including prison officers, prisoners, social workers, doctors and intelligence officers during its sitting. It also visited nine of the country's 12 prisons.
