TRADE MINISTER TO OFFICIATE DIALOGUE ON SMART PARTNERSHIP
 


The Minister of Industry, Trade and Marketing Mr. Mpho Malie will officiate at a two-day workshop on "a way forward from the global dialogue in Malaysia" aimed at deciding a way forward for Lesotho The workshop will  take place at Maseru on Wednesday March 05 to 06.

A statement from Cabinet indicates that a briefing on the global dialogue held in Malaysia last year will be performed by the Principal Secretary to Cabinet, Mr. Kubutu Makhakhe. It says that a mission report drawn from the international dialogue
entitled "Towards a smarter Globe, enhancing Security and Prosperity for development through Smart Partnership", will form part of the discussion during the workshop.

Other topics to be tackled include the role of marketing in smart businesses, LNDC and local business owners through smart partnership, privatization and local business owners through smart partnership. Others would be Lesotho Smart partnership hub, and its role in sustainable development.

The statement noted that the Minister in the Prime Minister's office, Mr. Sephiri Motanyane, would officially close the workshop after participants have presented work plans for the implementation of smart partnership dialogue recommendations in Lesotho.

Smart partnership is a new framework for governments and companies to do business in an international context. The sixth global dialogue between Heads of states and governments was held in Malaysia last year under the theme enhancing security and prosperity for development through smart partnership. Lesotho was lead by the Prime Minister in those discussions.
