Tourists' Vehicles Hijacked at Ha Makhakhe

The Mafeteng police are hot on the heels of car hijackers who hijacked two vehicles transporting tourists to Malealea in two incidents in the past two weeks.

According to Sergeant Khatebe Voezana of the Mafeteng police, the first vehicle was hijacked two weeks ago and the second one last Saturday at the same place. It seems the tourists were attacked by three unknown men who hijacked the vehicles at gunpoint.

The Mafeteng police have expressed concern over the offence and urged members of the public to provide the police with information, which could lead to the arrest of perpetrators.

Sergeant Voezana said all the suspect are still at large and police are continuing with investigations.

Hijacking of vehicles is one of the serious offences, saying if it continues it will destroy tourism industry since tourists would be reluctant to visit places like Malealea.
