ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS COMPLETED
 


Twelve rural roads that are currently under construction in various areas in the Mokhotlong district are expected to be completed by the end of this month.

According to the Senior Technical Officer of the Department of Rural Roads,Mr. Teboho Mahlatsi, the projects started in October last year and is scheduled to take five months.

Mr. Mahlatsi however indicated that the construction of these roads was hindered by torrents of heavy rain. He added that the lengths of the roads differ from 14km to 24km.

The Senior Technical Officer said the labourers were paid M31.00 per day following the withdrawal of the World Food Programme (WFP), where people were given incentives of donated food. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of Tlhanyaku Airstrip is expected to take one month.
