QUEEN MOTHER PROMOTED CULTURE AND TRADITION--TSEKOA

 

 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohlabi Tsekoa says the late Queen Mother 'Mamohato Bereng Seeiso was dedicated in promoting the culture and tradition of Basotho. When delivering condolences in the National Assembly on Friday, Minister Tsekoa noted that this was visible in her devotion when participating in cultural activities as well as traditional dances and songs especially those of "Mokhibo" which she performed with utter love and commitment.

He thanked the Queen mother for the lesson she has passed on to the younger generation that the nation, which cherishes its culture and tradition is likely to stay intact from generation to generation. He further pointed out that the Queen Mother died at a time when the nation looked up to her for she was the burning light of the nation, expressing hope that the people will thank God for her life and cherish the moments they got to spend with her throughout their entire lives. Mr. Tsekoa  extended his condolences to the Royal family members, government of Lesotho and its people for untimely the death of the Queen mother.

Also delivering his condolences was the Minister of Natural Resources, Mr. Monyane Moleleki who indicated that the Queen Mother was a devoted Christian all her life, adding that it was not surprising that she met her untimely death while attending a retreat of the Catholic Church in the Auray mission. He expressed his heartfelt condolences, more especially to members of churches, which the Queen Mother prayed with, saying they should be grateful that she died in the house of the Lord.

Other members of Parliament who conveyed their condolences are Mr. Kelebone Maope and Mr. Metsing Lekhanya who expressed their knowledge of the Queen Mother as a devoted and peace loving citizen, who was committed to promoting peace and stability in the country. since the death of the Queen Mother, condolences have been pouring from inside and outside the country to console the royal family,
government and people of Lesotho on their sudden loss.
