QUEEN MOTHER'S REMAINS TRANSFERRED TO MATSIENG

 

 
The remains of the late Queen Mother 'Mamohato Bereng Seeiso were transferred to Matsieng on Thursday afternoon, to give her people an opportunity to also pay their last respects. Upon arrival , another moment of silence was observed at the  Matsieng Royal Village  as another way of paying last respects to the mother of the nation.

At the  arrival, the Roman Catholic Roman Church (RCC) Archbishop Rev. Bernard Mohlalisi led the nation in a short service, held at the royal family's premises. When praising the late Queen Mother, Rev. Mohlalisi indicated that she worked hard as a Christian for she had faith in Jesus Christ, pleading the congregation to follow in the Queen Mother's footsteps.

Archbishop Mohlalisi  prayed for the  nation to have strength to say good-bye to the beloved mother of the nation, whom he confirmed that she would meet with all her people  in another life. Rev.  Mohlalisi, also  announced that the ambassador of the Pope would attend the funeral. When the church service was over, the casket was again opened to afford the Matsieng community and nearby villages to catch the last glimpse of the remains and to pay their last respects to the Queen Mother.

Meanwhile, messages of condolences have been pouring in from all over the world , including condolences from the British Royal Family, which expressed sorrow to learn of the sudden death of Queen Mother. The Queen Mother met her death while attending a retreat of the legion of  St Ann of the Catholic Church at the Auray Mission in Mants'onyane on the fateful day of 6th  September,2003.
