A Small Step Towards Public Private Partnership

 

A public private partnership aimed at an environmentally clean Mafeteng was launched with the official opening of an improved parking lot at the town's main shopping centre on November 28.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Mafeteng, Mr. Lesao Lehohla, inaugurated the parking lot, built by local business Zakhura Brothers with assistance from the Environmental Health Division of the Ministry of Health.

Commending Zakhura Bothers' efforts, Mr. Lehohla urged the Mafeteng urban board to draw up development plans for the town, with special emphasis on the market and bus stop areas. He appealed to the business community to participate in these efforts.

The Principal Chief of Likhoele, Morena Lerotholi Seeiso and the chief health inspector, Mr. Mohlakola Hlabana, also appealed to the Mafeteng community to ensure that the town in environmentally clean.

The Environmental Health Division is engaged in a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of living in a clean environment that would help them avoid infectious diseases, Mr. Hlabana said.
