MODDERPORT STUDY TOUR SUCCEEDS

The study tour that has been undertaken by 15 youth from various youth movements at Modderport in South Africa, under the programme of the Basotho Prophecy Along Development, is reported to have enabled youth to be conversant about the country's history.

In an interview, the coordinator of the tour, which was carried out on Saturday last week, Mr. Libe Moremoholo said, among others youth have been briefed about some of the prophecies that were made by the Basotho prophet, 'm'e 'Mantsopa. Mr. Moremoholo stated 'Mantsopa had prophesized that the Europeans who came to Africa, would among others, change the many cultures found in Africa, thus changing the way Africans live. "Many things that we experience now is the result of us, adopting foreign cultures" he added.

The coordinator  pointed out that the tour has enabled them to discover some of the historical issues, which will enable them to propose operational strategies that could be followed as a way of striving for country's economic growth, whereby cultural matters would be taken into consideration as a major contribution to development.

Mr. Moremoholo mentioned that the intention is to engage into some research on the works of another Mosotho prophet known as Walter Matita, where  focus would be put on what his contributions were in the country's history. He stressed that it is through the review of culture that the country can achieve its development, adding that the ongoing activity is the youth's contribution towards the country's development.
