LESOTHO AND CUBA RELATIONS GROW STRONGER

 

 
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba presently based in Pretoria, Mr. Marcos Rodriquez paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohlabi Tsekoa on Wednesday. Mr. Rodriquez also paid farewell courtesy calls on among others, King Letsie III and the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili.
           

During his tenure of office, Mr. Rodriquez undertook an official visit to Lesotho in December 2002 and participated in the second session of the Joint Commission for Economic, Technical and Scientific cooperation between Lesotho and Cuba that took place in Maseru in July 2003.Discussions during both the first and the second session of the Joint Commission, focused on cooperation in economic development in various sectors, namely: Health, Water Resources, Agriculture and Human Resource Training. The first session took place in Havana, Cuba.
           

Diplomatic Relations between Lesotho and Cuba were established in1979 and since then the relations between the two countries have been growing from strength to strength.
