LESOTHO TO PARTICIPATE AT GLOBAL 2003 DIALOGUE

 

 Following an invitation extended to the Prime Minister of Lesotho by the King of Swaziland, King Mswati III, Lesotho will participate at the Global 2003 International Dialogue on Smart partnership, to be held at Ezulwini, Swaziland, from August 13 to 17, 2003.

A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the overall focus for Global 2003 is towards building a smarter and safer globe through smart partnership. The theme for the dialogue is "Towards a Smarter Globe- Enhancing Identity for Development of Smart Partnership. The statement showed that the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Lesao Lehohla will lead the Lesotho delegation comprising of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohlabi Tsekoa, of Trade, Mr. Mpho Malie, the Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Mr. Mohlomi Rantekoa, the Lesotho High Commissioner to South Africa, Mosuoe Moteane and the Director of the Lesotho Smart Partnership Hub, Mrs. 'Mampai Lebeko.

Eleven other delegates  representing the political, private, academic and social sectors,  as well as media and youth, will form part of the Lesotho delegation .The Deputy Prime Minister has been assigned to moderate "Open House" on special dialogue session. He would be expected to stimulate participants to share their experiences and match them with needs and skills across the Commonwealth Partnership for Technology management.
 

It is expected that 750 delegates from public and private sectors from over 60 countries in East, West and Southern Africa and other parts of the world will participate at the dialogue.
