LESOTHO DANCESPORT ASSOCIATION (LEDASA) LAUNCHES WEBSITE AND LOGO
 


The Lesotho Dance Sport Association (Ledasa), held a 15 Kilometre fun walk from Maseru Club to areas around the town  as part of the launching ceremony of the association's website and logo. The ledasa  President, Ms Nts'ili Motsieloa said the fun walk was from Maseru Club, along Mpilo Boulevard road, via Thabong, via Lake Side, via the circle, past the Lerotholi Technical Institute (LTI),and back to Maseru Club.


Ms Motsieloa  indicated that, before the fun walk, the Minister of Gender, Youth,  Sports and Recreation, Mrs. 'M'athabiso Lepono unveiled the association's logo. She said during the unveiling of the logo, the minister commended association members for having engaged in a sport that she described as being peaceful. The launch of the new logo was highlighted with the award of trophies to winners of a dance competition that was held in Durban, in December last year.

The launching  ceremony was concluded by a gala evening dinner dance at Maseru  Sun Cabanas. Present at the ceremony among others were the Assistant Minister of Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation, Mr. Hlonepho Nts'ekhe, The Government secretary Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane and senior government officials.

During the occasion, the official website of the association  was launched. The address is www.ledasa.org,ls . The Assistant Minister also presented honorary certificates  to three pioneers of DanceSport in Lesotho. The three gentlemen Messer's George Makara, Steven Manare and Monaheng Monyane were given awards as a token of acknowledging their contribution to the development of Ballroom and Latin American dancing in Lesotho. 

The Lesotho Dance Sport Association was formed in the middle of last year, with a view to promote dancesport  as a form of recreation in the country, as well as to discourage youth from committing criminal offences. It is hoped that more people will participate in dancing in the future.
