LCCI EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO ADDRESS TRADING PROBLEMS
 


The newly elected executive committee of the Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has recommended that the Chamber's constitution be reviewed so that it could be strengthened where it shows weaknesses.

In an interview, a member of the executive committee responsible for training, Mr. Ntaote Seboka said the constitution has shown some weakness, as it has not addressed problems encountered by members. He said after being elected recently, the committee has agreed to give urgent attention to problems met by members, adding members of the executive  are not expected to enjoy their positions in the committee, but they should be seen to be working to address the problems encountered by the people they serve. He added that they will formulate a policy to address  street vendors' problems.

Mr. Seboka said the LCCI executive committee will also ensure the election of district committees within two months, which will serve the district for two years. The new executive committee's president is Mr. Teboho Mokau, deputized by Mr. Kuena Phafane, the treasurer is Mrs. 'Mammako Molapo.

The annual general meeting has also elected vice presidents in various divisions that include; industry, liaison, trade, legal, fundraising, training and tourism and they are Messrs Rabohlale Matsoso, Katleho Pholo,William Mafoso, Kefumane Taka, Ntsamaeeng Mokete, Ntaote Seboka and Mrs'Mamatela Phamotse-Rantho respectively.
